Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired?

Depression can be exhausting.

When hearing the word depression, people often think it is when you are stuck laying in bed all day or feeling an uncontrollable sadness. However, depression is so much more than that.

Depression can flood you with such intense emotions and negative thoughts that you feel trapped in a body you don’t want to be in. You feel like you have no control over how you feel or what you do. Depression can also look like you going about your daily life fulfilling all your respnsibilities, but when you get home, it hits you like a ton of bricks. You’re able to take off the “mask” you’ve been wearing all day and be the “you” your depression has created.

Maybe it feels normal to…..

  • not want to go to work, school or be a parent anymore.

  • feel like nothing matters.

  • walk around in a daze, overwhelmed with negative thoughts.

  • not be able to get out of bed in the morning or fall asleep at night.

  • think everything is pointless and nothing will ever change.

You are sick and tired of living this way and want your life back. Yet, you feel so overwhelmed and don’t know where to even start. You’ve been able to manage this yourself in the past, and you’re wondering why you can’t manage it yourself now.

 Maybe you

find yourself:

  • feeling trapped in a body you don’t want to be in.

  • having no control over how you feel or what you do.

  • scrolling aimlessly on your phone or watching TV for hours in the evening to “relax”, but it doesn’t seem to help.

  • dealing with overwhelming feelings or struggling to feel anything at all due to the “numbness” within.

  • using all your energy to do everyday things like taking a shower or brushing your teeth.

  • acting “fine” when around others, but those intense feelings hit you when you are alone with your negative thoughts.

  • feeling alone and empty, like it might be easier if you just weren’t “here” anymore.

If you are feeling any of these things, please know that this is not “normal”. This is the impact depression can have. Depression no longer has to dictate the way you feel or live anymore.

  • Since each person’s circumstances are different, it is solely up to the individual of how often they would like to go to therapy. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, weekly may be encouraged starting out. Once things feel like they are more in control, we would then transition you to every other week appointments.

If you want to do every other week starting out, that is fine too. This will be a discussion you can have in the phone consultation or your first session.

  • Click the schedule free consultation button to schedule your phone call. We will discuss what you want from therapy, cost, scheduling and what to expect in the first session. If you determine I am the best fit for your needs, we can get your first appointment scheduled.

  • CBT is known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is a type of psychological treatment that is effective when working with anxiety and depression.

The purpose of CBT is to help improve the thinking patterns of the person. This helps a person identify their negative thoughts, improve their self-confidence and develop problem-solving skills in difficult situations.
